Almost Famous

Almost Famous *** MUST SEE MOVIE ***

Almost famous is brilliantly directed by Cameron Crowe and in his own words "is a love letter to music". This flick sincerely captures the essence of rock roll in the late 70's, and comes complete with sex, drugs and more sex. The lead character William takes us on a fantasy road trip, through the eyes of a naive, but determined 15 years old. William's loyalties and morals are tested to the limits, when he is faced with the decision of 'doing the right thing' by his new found rock mentors and buddies or capitalizing on his behind the scenes goss, to expand his budding career as scathingly honest rock journo for Rolling Stone.

Kate Hudson radiates on screen and plays everybody's love interest! She may not have won an Academy ward this year but next year could be Kates.

Ah yes, this film takes you back to a simpler world and a time long past that is begging for rebirth in our current, complex society. You can see it breaking through fashion, movies and most definitely music, forget electronica dance and popstars, the rockstar is back.

- Kellee Cruse
