New Moon- The Twilight Saga

The Twilight Saga has become an obsession amongst females of many ages. The first movie, Twilight, has been watched countless times whilst book spines all over the world are bent from numerous re-reads. The second installment of the Twilight Saga hits Australian cinemas on the 19th of November 2009. Cinemas have sold out sessions of New Moon beginning from 12:01am.

The wait for those who hold the tickets to the first session come midnight will be over and once again they will see heart-throbe, Robert Pattinson who plays Edward Cullen. Fans have been waiting for New Moon, the second installment, since the credits rose on completion of Twilight. The classic Romeo and Juliet, forbidden love tale between vampire Edward and human teenager Bella and the irrestible combination of supernatural twist and suspense is what makes the saga so popular.

Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards 2009

The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards were full of stars, slimes and smiles in Melbourne’s Hisense Arena. Delta Goodrem hosted the event alongside Joel and Benji Madden, from Good Charlotte and Miranda Cosgrove, from iCarly.

Rove took home two awards; Fave TV Star and Fave Aussie award. Jessica Mauboy took out Fave Aussie Singer and Guy Sebastian was awarded the ‘So Hot Right Now’ award.

Mortgage Choice has found over a third of Generation Y's are planning to buy an investment property by June 2011 whilst also aiming to purchase their own home. Almost one quarter of those aimed to create an investment property portfolio, which would include as many properties as possible. 93% stated that their aim was to financially set themselves up for the future with 73% believing that investment properties were more beneficial than the share market.

Award Winning Sensation

One of the world’s biggest New Years Eve events, Sensation, has received an award for the Best Sound and Production at The Australian Festival Awards. The Sensation festival was also voted as Victoria’s No. 1 festival/event at the Sony ‘In The Mix’ Awards proving that Australians have embraced Sensation as one of the places to be, this New Year’s Eve. To welcome 2009, 40,000 people, all wearing white, attended Sensation at Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium.

In a world first, The University of Sydney aims to prove whether the commonly held assumption that thongs are bad for our feet is true or false.
Thongs also known as flip-flops, pluggers, go-aheads, jandals and Havaianas are the chosen footwear for many Aussies in the hotter months because they are comfortable and convenient, yet fashionable.

The energy drink discussion is forever being left unresolved. Are they bad for us? Why are they bad for us? Why do we still continue to drink energy drinks? Energyfiend.com states that in 2006, over three billion cans of Red Bull were sold for consumption; so are we all drinking energy drinks? I guess it would be safe to assume that nearly all of us have tried one of the energy drinks on today’s market; whether it is Red Bull, V or a similar energy drink. But do we know what is really in these drinks?

Do you think the era we live in determines how happy we are? A recent email made me think, does it make a difference what year we were brought up in? Does the ever increasing violence, terrorism and strict rules result in there being truth to the claim that our grandparents were happier than us? Playing ball on the street has been replaced with violent, competitive video games. Walking and riding to school has been substituted with school buses and car pooling- but I don't believe that has made anyone sadder than those before them.

Yes I can clear stray hairs between waxes but overall it is so worth the $10-$15 to have a pro wax your eyebrows!

Generation Y Cost Parents $6,000 a Year

A study by Bankwest has shown that stay at home Generation Y are the most expensive of all generations in history, they cost their parents $6,000 a year on top of the average $200,000 which has already been spent to raise each of them from birth! Generation Y is classified as the best-educated and tech-savvy generation of all, but this study has revealed that two out of three Generation Ys that still live at home with their parents do not contribute a cent to household bills. The average rent paid to the parents of a Gen Y is $70 a week.

It is nearly every day you hear about the latest hooning incident around the country. It's crazy to think that even after countless deaths from dangerous and illegal driving people still hoon! Is risking your life and those around you fun? Certaintly not...

The results are clear- irresponsible driving, whether it be burnouts, doughnuts or excessive speed, KILLS. Dangerous play nearly always results in damage- so why do 'hoons' still 'hoon'?

Michael Jackson

Although there are conflicting reports and no sources have been confirmed, at 5.30pm LA time on the 25th of June, Australia heard that Michael Jackson had died, at the age of 50. It has been reported by News websites that Jackson suffered a cardiac arrest at his home and paramedics were unable to revive him. CNN was told that a call to 911, from one of Jackson's staff was made from his home at 12.21pm. Michael Jackson has three children: Michael Joseph Jackson Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince 'Blanket' Michael Jackson II. Michael is known as the King of Pop with 13 number one hits during his solo career.
