Baileys Lip Attractiveness Software

Italian actress Monica Bellucci has beaten Angelina Jolie and Scarlett Johansson to the title of the most attractive celebrity lips in the world according to the unique Baileys Lip Attractiveness Software developed by Lipologist, Dr. Kendra Schmid. The Baileys, Listen to your Lips campaign uses images of lips to evoke the sensory pleasure of Baileys. Baileys worked with Dr. Schmid to determine how attractive lips are, assessing lips proportions, size and fullness as well as texture, colour and shape. Monica Bellucci scored a perfect 10 because of her full, smooth and ideally proportioned lips.

The top five international celebrity lips according to Baileys Lip Attractiveness Software are:

1. Monica Bellucci: 10/10

2. Scarlett Johansson: 9.66/10

3. Halle Berry: 9.61/10

4. Beyonce Knowles: 8.65/10

5. Angelina Jolie: 7.89/10.

Natalie Bassingthwaighte (9.38/10) scored highest in regards to Australian celebrities followed by Megan Gale (8.6/10).  When it comes to blokes, Australians cricket star Michael Clarke scored highest at 9.02/10 followed by Merrick Watts (9/10) and Andy Lee (8.29/10).

Dr. Kendra Schmid said “Lips are such a distinctive feature and play a defining role in physical attractiveness, so I was intrigued when Baileys asked me to use my biometrics expertise to develop their Lip Attractiveness Software”.

“It’s not only the physical appearance of lips that make them so fascinating. Baileys research has shown that 83% of Australians believe that lips are the ultimate symbol of sensuality,” says Dr. Schmid.

We spoke to Dr. Kendra Schmid about her research and about 'lips'.

Why did you begin to create this software?

Dr. Kendra Schmid:  I created the software on behalf of Baileys as a part of their Listen to You Lips campaign.

How does the software work?

Dr. Kendra Schmid:   The software calculates an attractiveness score based on the size, shape, colour and texture of the lips. It was based on robust consumer research results where we had 50 males and 50 females rate the attractiveness of 200 lips.

What makes the perfect lips?

Dr. Kendra Schmid:   The perfect lips should be full, but not too full for the height of someone's face; the width should be about twice the height. The perfect lips would also have a smooth texture and a soft natural look.

Does lip-gloss and lipstick contribute to lip perfection?

Dr. Kendra Schmid:   Lip gloss and lipstick will affect the scores calculated by the software. We found that very bright, loud colours are rated lower than softer, more natural colours.

Have you found a male yet that has the perfect lips (a score of 10/10)?

Dr. Kendra Schmid:   Not yea, so far, the highest rated male is Australian cricketer Michael Clarke at 9.02/10.

Do males agree that Monica Bellucci has the best lips?

Dr. Kendra Schmid:   We did not specifically ask this question during the inital consumer research, but after analysing her lips with the Baileys Lip Attractiveness Software, we found them to rate a perfect 10.

What feature is the one that stands out the most on the face, do you believe it is the lips?

Dr. Kendra Schmid:   Most people would probably say that they notice eyes at first glance, but as you get more familiar with a person you begin to notice other features like the lips. In fact, according to Baileys research, 83% of Australians believe that lips are the ultimate symbol of snsuality and 77% have admitted to staring at the lips of someone attractive as they are talking, indicating that the lips are a very sensuous and mesmerising feature.

How about you...

What do you think the best and worst features of your face are?
