Do you love Charlaine Harris? I hear you scream “Of Course!” We all do… which is why we are all pumped that CBS is developing a NEW TV series based on Charlaine Harris’ Harper Connelly series of books! The show will be called ‘Grave Sight’, like the first novel in the Harper Connelly series.

“Any of you reading Variety today saw the happy news that the Harper Connelly books are a prospective series for CBS. We’ll know for sure some time around January. Kam Miller, a writer with a great track record, is the project head, and I’m lucky enough to have the amazing company Scott Free (executive producers Ridley Scott and Tony Scott) on the team, too. Keep your fingers crossed for the success of this project,” Charlaine Harris said.

Sally Riley (pictured) is now the Head of ABC TV’s Indigenous Department, a newly-created role for the ABC. Sally will be responsible for developing and commissioning a number of prime-time drama and documentaries as well as the ongoing production of the long-running weekly Indigenous magazine program Message Stick.

Previously Sally was the Head of Screen Australia’s Indigenous Unit where she played a vital role in developing Indigenous Australian film-making.

In April of last year Mark Wilkinson set himself a challenge ‘to release one original tune per week for an entire year, to YouTube’. The goal has recently been completed and Wilkinson has successfully succeeded in composing and delivering his music to a worldwide audience, for free. Wilkinson set the challenge when he became increasingly frustrated with the large costs and several delays that work alongside releasing an independent album. So far, Mark has received over 40,000 hits, striking a cord worldwide on YouTube.

What makes a star these days? Thanks to YouTube and Reality TV programs it appears that anybody can become famous. If you’re life is filled with dramas, all night partying, cool jobs with all the perks, and you want to be famous without putting in the hard yards just become a reality TV star!

I don’t like using the word ‘star’ when it comes to people who have shot to fame basically because they’ve had cameras follow them throughout their day to day lives, in what we as an audience are meant to believe is totally unscripted, genuine, O.M.G jaw-dropping drama. Having said that, it hasn’t stopped me from watching shows like Laguna Beach, The Hills (but only up until LC left, because let‘s face it, it was always meant to be her show) Keeping Up With The Kardashians and The City, to name just a few!

The Twilight Saga has become an obsession amongst females of many ages. The first movie, Twilight, has been watched countless times whilst book spines all over the world are bent from numerous re-reads. The second installment of the Twilight Saga hits Australian cinemas on the 19th of November 2009. Cinemas have sold out sessions of New Moon beginning from 12:01am.

The wait for those who hold the tickets to the first session come midnight will be over and once again they will see heart-throbe, Robert Pattinson who plays Edward Cullen. Fans have been waiting for New Moon, the second installment, since the credits rose on completion of Twilight. The classic Romeo and Juliet, forbidden love tale between vampire Edward and human teenager Bella and the irrestible combination of supernatural twist and suspense is what makes the saga so popular.

One of the world’s biggest New Years Eve events, Sensation, has received an award for the Best Sound and Production at The Australian Festival Awards. The Sensation festival was also voted as Victoria’s No. 1 festival/event at the Sony ‘In The Mix’ Awards proving that Australians have embraced Sensation as one of the places to be, this New Year’s Eve. To welcome 2009, 40,000 people, all wearing white, attended Sensation at Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium.
