Following a series of sell out shows earlier this year Bobby Flynn and his band The Omega Three have began touring again. For tour dates and gigs check out our What’s On. Bobby has just leap into fatherhood with the birth of his baby girl and says that he is “so excited to be back” playing music after the break.

How did it feel to hear your song played all over the airwaves?

Bobby Flynn: A little strange the first time, but then it makes you happy


Did you have any pre-conceived ideas about the music industry?

Bobby Flynn: Yes, I soon realised there's little point having preconceived notions based on past events. Every moment is a new opportunity to do your best.


Do you write your own songs?

Bobby Flynn: Yes - It's a very enjoyable part of the process.


What or who is your inspiration?

Bobby Flynn: I really like epic love songs. Songs that connect to my heart. My family are my inspiration, my sister has overcome a lot of adversity in her life and is happy. My daughter indigo is an inspiration.


Do you prefer performing live or recording?

Bobby Flynn: I enjoy performing live, it is a magic experience, but I love losing myself in a studio and experimenting with possibilities.


Whose music do you admire most?

Bobby Flynn: At the moment 80's love soft rock anthems and new wave.


What do you do to relax?

Bobby Flynn: Lay in the sun, cooking is fun, party with my family.


What's next? Tour/Album/Single?

Bobby Flynn: I am writing at the moment and I’m happy to take it slow for a little while, a new album in 09 sometime and touring with that.


What music/artists do you listen to when you are not playing your own?

Bobby Flynn: The Ting Tings, Van Morrison, The Knife, Pop Levi, Pnau, Jordin Sparkes, anything that moves me.


What is the biggest challenge you have faced along the way to your to musical success?

Bobby Flynn: Trusting myself and my own decisions - I think I've almost got over this.


What has been your favorite part of becoming a music artist?

Bobby Flynn: Meeting so many great people who have a similar love of music and community.


If you could collaborate with another artist, who would it be?

Bobby Flynn: Hmmm, Peter Gabriel or The Ting Tings.
