Just because you are dead doesn’t mean life is over!

Dead Gorgeous is a truly delightful 13 part children’s drama following the comical adventures of three beautiful, strong-willed teenage sisters Rebecca (Melissa Howard), Sophie (Poppy Lee Friar) and Hazel Ainsworth (Alexandra Coppinger) who just happen to be ghosts!

When the three sisters died in a tragic coach accident in 1861, they thought it was obviously some sort of cosmic glitch. How could it have been their time to die when they were only just beginning to live? Taking matters into her own hands, Rebecca makes an application to the Ghost Council, the high court of the afterlife, requesting them to return her and her sisters back to the world of the living. But the afterlife is much like real life, bureaucracy is slow and forms get lost or misfiled. For the sisters, the wait was 150 years, stuck in limbo.

Meanwhile, the girls‘grieving parents packed up all of their clothes and treasured items and put them into the attic and seal the entrance with a brick wall. The room remains untouched and undiscovered for 150 years. Returning to the estate, the girls quickly realise their home has been turned into a school. In a world unbeknown to them, and surrounded by other kids their age and under the watchful eye of their colourful, disorganised ghostly guardian - Agatha (Julie Eckersley), the sisters can now relive their youth but under one circumstance - if anyone finds out about their secret they will be sent back to the afterlife, ending the opportunity to start again.

Poppy Lee Friar came from the UK to take up the role of Sophie, bringing with her a wealth of experience starring on London’s West End in Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Her television credits include Desperate Romantics, Beautiful People and A Touch of Frost.

Dead Gorgeous is Alexandra Coppinger’s first professional role. Now in Year 8, Alexandra is keen on the arts and loves science. She describes herself as a bit of a tomboy and loves climbing trees and being outdoors.

Dead Gorgeous is Melissa Howard’s first major television role. Other TV credits include; Rush and Satisfaction.
