Demi Louise Edifier Interview

Continuing its foray into the lifestyle audio market Edifier has announced its first worldwide lifestyle ambassadors, including television personality and host Andy Trieu, up and coming singer-songwriter Demi Louise, online gamer and streamer Chelsea -Minks' Sandy and personal trainer and model Jennifer Apap. Each ambassador brings a unique element to Edifier's Music Program helping to connect the brand with people of diverse backgrounds through their shared love of music.

Aged just 22, Melbourne based singer-songwriter Demi Louise made the bold decision to travel the world and grow a fanbase organically through solid live shows.

After seeing her play live at SXSW in Texas Edifier's Marketing Director, Audrey Anne Felix knew Demi Louise would be the perfect ambassador for the brand.

'We fell in love with Demi the moment we saw her performance at SXSW. She was down to earth, talented and just the warmest person you could ever meet, and we deduced all of this from just that one performance. She's an incredible role model for any musician starting out in the industry and creatively one of the most fun personalities for Edifier." said Felix

Her unique brand of folk-inspired pop has built up an impressive following worldwide. Demi's combined social media following is now over 60,000+ and she has racked up almost a quarter of a million views on Youtube.

Demi's debut single -Ruins' reached no. 7 in the ITunes Singer Songwriter chart. Her song -Rivers Run To Red' was covered by -The German Voice' winner Charley An, and in 2014 Demi took home 'Pop Song of the Year' at the Australian Songwriters Association Awards.

'I've been singing and writing songs since I was about 16-17. It's a whole part of my soul and whether it's creating it or listening to it my world cannot be without it." said Demi.

She's excited about being an Edifier Ambassador and helping to grow the brand. 'Edifier have developed such a great range of products with cutting edge looks and design and I'm really excited to be a part of helping expose their range to Australia." explained Demi.

Interview with Demi Louise

Question: How does it feel to be an Edifier ambassador?

Demi Louise: Pretty exciting! I'm so lucky to be able to work with them.

Question: What do you love about Edifier products?

Demi Louise: I love Edifier because they create great sound, AND they look sleek and amazing. There are so many products out there that are not only overpriced but don't give you any kind of experience with their sound. That's why I love Edifier.

Question: Do you have a favourite product?

Demi Louise: I have two favourite products, the first is the MP700 portable speaker - not only is it beautiful to look at but it's great for me when I'm on the road and I can't travel with my monitors. It allows me to not only practice on the go but also listen to my favourite songs. My other favourite product is the S1000DB. For the studio these monitors are so smooth and responsive and are also wireless- which means I can have them mounted on the wall without all the messy leads in between.

Question: How do you hope to use the Edifier's Music Program?

Demi Louise: Being one of their first worldwide ambassadors is really special to me and I can't wait to get moving on creating some great content together!

Question: How would you describe your music?

Demi Louise: My music is Pop/Folk.

Question: Did you have any pre-conceived ideas about the music industry?

Demi Louise: I think that you always have pre conceived ideas of most industries in the world until you get involved. I think that with the way music is changing the industry is also changing so perhaps the ideas I used to have were correct and now things are just different.

Question: Do you write your own songs? What's your inspiration?

Demi Louise: Yes. I take inspiration from everything really- my songs are full of stories and personal experiences and so I think that makes up a lot of my inspiration.

Question: What music/artists do you listen to when you are not playing your own?

Demi Louise: I love Adele, Megan Trainor, Ben Howard, Hozier, George Ezra, Amy Winehouse, Taylor swift, and so on.

Question: What's next? Tour/Album/Single?

Demi Louise: More music! Not sure whether that will be in the form of an EP or a single as of yet.

Question: Was there a moment you contemplated throwing in the towel?

Demi Louise: I think all artists have those moments. But I've learnt just how lucky I am with my life and how much I love what I do and ultimately that's the most important thing.

Question: Do you prefer performing live or recording?

Demi Louise: That's a hard question! I love both parts equally at different times. If you're having a real inspired few weeks then definitely the studio but sometimes you just want to play live.

Question: What/who was your inspiration to go into the music industry?

Demi Louise: I sort of came into everything very naturally- I started writing songs as soon as I started learning guitar and from there I started at open mics and it all just started progressing! I just loved it and everything about it.

Question: What is the biggest challenge you have faced along the way to your musical success?

Demi Louise: Probably learning how to balance life around everything! At the moment I'm not able to support myself full time off music in Australia and so learning how to work and balance life so that you can be your best creative self is hard!

Question: What's a typical day like?

Demi Louise: I wake up quite early most of the time, and I always incorporate some kind of writing into every day!

Question: What has been your favourite part of becoming a music artist?

Demi Louise: Travelling I think! Being able to perform all over the world as well as write and experience music in those countries is definitely one of my favourite parts.

Question: If you could collaborate with another artist, who would it be?

Demi Louise: Amy Winehouse or Adele. I would love to write with Max Martin also.
