Divide & Conquer Long Story Short

Sydney outfit Divide & Conquer have announced they will release their long awaited debut EP, 'Long Story Short", on April 1st to iTunes and embark on 'The Long Story Short Tour" in a run of dates during April.

Divide & Conquer are known for their energetic performances and are looking forward to showcasing songs from the post-summer release, smashing up some stages and getting into people's faces on this compact tour run.

The mini-album features seven full throttle tracks including the first single 'Superheroboy" which will be accompanied by a music video that is in final production now.

The band believes this sophomore EP is their biggest achievement to date and features their signature sound, big breakdowns, exciting interludes and big vocals and harmonies. The EP has been two years in the making and hence the EP title 'Long Story Short". Originally planned as a five track EP, the boys were so inspired during the song writing process, they went on to record seven solid tracks for the EP.

A true definition of the 'PopCore" genre at its best, banding together in June 2011, five strapping young lads came together through a love of melodic drenched pop-punk to form Divide & Conquer.

Over the past three years, their highly energetic performances have enabled them to successfully carve their own respected niche onto the Sydney pop punk scene. Flawlessly blending punk, pop and hardcore into an arresting listen, Divide & Conquers frequent live performances built a small, but devoted following. The band went on to support international heavyweights Silverstein (CAN), Cartel (USA), I Call Fives (USA) and Veil of Maya (USA) and local favourites Heroes For Hire, Hands Like Houses, Sound of Seasons and Caulfield. Impressing all with their unique sound, passionate lyrics and admirable and inexhaustible dedication as they went from show to show, all over the state.

The members of Divide & Conquer are Pat Thatcher (lead vocals), Lorenzo La Cava (guitar/vocals), Twins - Kristian Pryor (guitar/vocals) and Gavin Pryor (bass/vocals) with Rob Johnson (drums) rounding out the line up – together they share a diverse variety of musical influences to create their sound. Divide & Conquer are a well-executed cacophony of sound with solid polyrhythmic drum patterns, matching smooth pulsating bass lines and intricate guitar licks, all topped off with three main harmonic vocalists in order to create the layers which form their sound.

Divide & Conquer may well be one of Sydney's best kept secrets!
