Australasia's largest skate event BOWL-A-RAMA will be returning to Bondi Skate Park for 2016, with a fresh look and a brand new partner – General Pants Co. As the only international professional bowl event of its kind, GENERAL PANTS BOWL-A-RAMApromises not only some of the best skateboarding in Australasia, but so too the world. Returning to the iconic location on 20-21 February 2016, the event will deliver a long list of legendary riders, in an exciting new event format and on an even bigger venue footprint.

 

Attracting an all-star line-up featuring some of the world's best skaters, the 2016 GENERAL PANTS BOWL-A-RAMA will see one of the most legendary skateboarders of all time, Tony -The Birdman' Hawk, return to defend his back-to-back Masters Title wins. Hawk will be joined by international and local skate heroes, Steve Caballero, Omar Hassan, Pedro Barros, Eddie Elguera and many others putting it all on the line.

 

NSW Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events and Minister for Sport, Stuart Ayres said the 2016 GENERAL PANTS BOWL-A-RAMA promises to be the biggest yet, as it showcases the very best of Bondi Beach in summer.

 

'I am pleased to see BOWL-A-RAMA back at Bondi for another year, proudly supported by the NSW Government through its tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW. Since the event began in 2005, it has gone from strength to strength, and 2016 promises to be even bigger, thanks to an incredible line-up of skateboarders and several exciting new features. It truly is a must-see event for any adrenaline sports fan," Mr Ayres said.

 

The 2016 event welcomes leading Australian fashion retailer General Pants Co. as naming rights sponsor. The global trend hunters have thrown their support behind this year's BOWL-A-RAMA™ to ensure the event continues to go from strength to strength.

As the largest gathering of pro skateboarders in the Southern Hemisphere, GENERAL PANTS BOWL-A-RAMA 2016 will ensure fans get closer to the action than ever before. To guarantee spectators get the best view possible, the layout has been changed with the introduction of a new 1,250 seat stadium. Able accommodate up to 5,000 fans over the course of the weekend, the stadium features a large Hill Stand for session ticket holders and expanded Car Park Stand for all day ticket holders. 

 

The new GENERAL PANTS BOWL-A-RAMA format will also include two skate sessions each day, and new girl and junior AM jams added to the existing Masters, Pro and open skates. The Saturday session will feature Master, Pro, Junior and all riders' heats, while Sunday will include Master and Pro semi-finals, a girl jam followed by Junior, Master and Pro finals, in addition to the all-rider's Best Trick and the award ceremony. Finally, boasting more than just action on the day, GENERAL PANTS BOWL-A-RAMA remains the only bowl skateboarding competition to name World Champions in both Pro and Masters Divisions, making it a key event for skaters globally.

Complementing the main events, ticket holders will also be treated to epic live music and food options across the course of the weekend on Bondi's trendy shore, all made possible thanks to event partners Destination NSW, New Era Caps, Santa Cruz, Guzman y Gomez, Pretty Shady, ESPN, and more to be announced soon.

 

After a highly successful pre-sale campaign, tickets are moving fast, with Sunday finals events almost sold out!
