Review: This movie is not a typical 'Hercules" movie, still labelled the son of Zeus but only by reputation, the story follows a band of war torn mercenaries fighting for gold to forge a better life.

I found this movie really utilised the fact it was in 3D - it had great fight scenes while also having quite a bit of comedy relief and a refreshing balance of story.

Every scene tried to pull you into the old world that they lived in, from every club swing, sword and man leaping or flying through the air something always seemed to be out of the screen and challenging reality.

Hercules past was delivered in parts through the movie, not to distract you from the current story or to bore you with too many details; I found each character to have their own strengths and weaknesses and all worked into the story quite well.

This movie seemed to paint the character Hercules in a more human light, the way that the trials are depicted is quite unique, it also delivers the message that anyone can become a hero.
