17-year-old Brisbane Producer JOY. returns with her brand new single, 'About Us'. Featuring her trademark ethereal vocals, dreamy pop percussion and striking lyricism, the track showcases her masterful production and provides a taste of what's to come from the gifted multi-instrumentalist's 4-track self-produced EP, -Ode', set for release 28th August.
Of the debut, JOY. notes 'Over a week in May I locked myself in my studio consuming only coffee and doughnuts, and these longs nights resulted in me making a lot of whack shit. Out of the abundance of beats, material and ideas that I had collected over the past few months, from writing on the road and at home, I found a common thread and felt like these 4 tracks told a good story from start to finish. I'm really excited to finally put out a whole body of work, and for people to cop it in one go."
Having lent her sultry vocals to Peking Duk's, -Like A Version' as well as sharing the stage with fellow rising stars Tkay Maidza, George Maple and Dustin Tebbutt, JOY. continues her 2015 takeover.
The moniker of producer/singer Olivia McCarthy, JOY. cemented herself as -One To Watch' after claiming the title of the Triple J Unearthed Feature artist earlier this year, performing as the Triple J Unearthed winner at the Brisbane leg of Laneway Festival and Field Day 2015.
