Each year, Australian food manufacturers compete at the Sydney Royal Fine Food Show. There is intense competition with over 400 entries submitted. Kurrajong Kitchen entered the Professional Bakery section and won an impressive 11 awards.

With recent headlines highlighting a lack of regulation and quality checks for food imported into Australia, it's heartening to hear the Sydney Royal Fine Food Show is so fiercely contesed.

It was announced in March that Kurrajong Kitchen had won 11 awards - 2 Gold Medals, 4 Silver and 5 Bronze. As a result, Kurrajong Kitchen can now boast every product in their range has won an award at the 2015 Sydney Royal Fine Food Show.

It's an impressive achievement for this small, family owned business that still uses tradional baking methods.

Husband and wife team, Ben and Karen Lebsanft began making Kurrajong Kitchen's famous lavosh breads 22 years ago and are still going strong.

"It hasn't always been easy," said Karen. "In the beginning we baked at night and operated a restaurant during the day and evening." But their love for their products and their enthusiasm for the Kurrajong Kitchen brand has seen them through the difficult moments they have experienced over the years.

When asked what it means to the staff to win so many awards, Marketing and Distrubution Co-Ordinator, Rachael Wood said, "It's great to be acknowledged as a leader in our field. I am so proud to work for an Australian company that has been recognised for producing high quality, delicious products."

Kurrajong Kitchen bakes a number of products in a range of flavours including the Gold Medal winning LavoshCrackers in Poppy and Sesame flavour and the LavoshThins in Caramelized Onion flavour. These products were awarded an impressive 90 out of 100 based on factors such as taste, crispness and texture.
