Running Time: 77 minutes
Space Chimps is an intergalactic comedy that highlights the antics of astronaut chimps with the 'wrong stuff'. Circus monkey Ham III (Adam Samberg), is the slacker grandson of Ham I, the first chimp blasted into space in 1961, and is destined to live forever in his shadow. That is, until he reluctantly joins two other highly-skilled astronaut chimps, Luna (Cheryl Hines) and Titan (Patrick Warburton) for a dangerous mission through a black hole to an inhabited planet. When they're stranded there, the chimps must help the inhabitants rid themselves of a tyrannical leader, and then figure out how to get back to Earth.
One of the year's funniest animated flicks, both kids and their parents will giggle with glee at Space Chimps, a brightly animated, witty story that will send the family bananas!
Review: Beautiful animation, and an original story. Demonstrating the pressure of living in the shadow of great heros, and also how to find yourself and choose a path that's right for you. When seriously trained astrochimps are partnered with a circus chimp they learn to let loose & take responsiblity. Faced with the reality that they are not real astronauts, the chimps become heros after all, saving an alien planet and restoring faith in space travel.Space Chimps is entertaining, fun, and totally bananas.
