At long last, Stompin hits Melbourne.

After rave reviews and sell out shows at its Launceston Premiere in 2006, Stompin are preparing to pack their bags, load a dismantled home into two shipping containers and transport a large-scale ensemble of contemporary dancers and dance work to Melbourne en-masse.

This next evolution of Home is created and performed by Stompin's extraordinary ensemble of inspiring artists, young performers and community participants from both Launceston and Melbourne.

Home departs every five minutes with a maximum of 10 audience members, groups are taken on a voyeuristic live-art roller coaster ride through a range of intimate dance performance episodes and a series of private living spaces: living, dining, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom.

Dominating the entire length of the imposing and distinctive Arts House, Meat Market performance space, Home's stunning set-design has been created by students from the University of Tasmania's School of Architecture.

Stompin's most innovative and dynamic work to date, Home is a performance installation about the place we live and the living we create, an experience that literally takes its audience on a physical journey through the places we call home.

One of Australia's most captivating dance companies, Stompin is a force that ignites artistic ambition in young people. The company celebrate the talents of young performers in high profile, site-specific performance events. Using striking and bold initiatives Stompin creates an energetic creative environment, providing a context for emerging artists and young people to lead, create and present work.

"... a must-see. Home is a rich collaboration between the artists involved and a powerful work... it is Stompin's best work to date. Don't miss it."
