TOM PIPER
Tom Piper is literally one of Sydney's most in demand and hardest working DJs at the moment. With a string of hit releases & remixes under his belt, he is playing at all of Sydney's upfront nights and doing interstate gigs regularly. His current remix of Sidney Samson's track 'Riverside' was at #1 for many weeks and still Top 20 in the club chart and his remix of Grafton Primary is also Top 20.
Tom's remix of 'Empire Of The Sun's' new single 'Standing On The Shore' is out early June through EMI and stay tuned for a new onelove remix of 'Back to the Beat' coming soon too. Tom has recently launched a monthly mix tape / show called 'FRSHCRCK' and it's available at www.djtompiper.com as well as his radio spot on 2ser last week.
Tom has been crazy busy in the studio collaborating with Destroy Disco, Charlie 'snob' Mumbles, Wax Motif, Daniel Farley (NZ), PNC (NZ), Nick Corelli (M.Y.N.C. Project UK), Alex Schmitz (BombSquad UK), Jono Fernandez and more.. and with this sling of releases (7) on the way, Tom shows no signs of slowing down. His sets are packed full of energy and he plays across the board club music and can cater to nearly any clubbing crowd.

Riverside is so popular, everyone in clubs is dancing to this song! How does that make you feel?
Tom Piper: Oh yeah, its sweet.. always feels good when people are dancing to something you've been involved with. Such a massive track and I'm happy I was given the opportunity to remix it in piper freshness style! Riverside!! (laughs)
What was it like working with Nick Corelli?
Tom Piper: Working with Nick was really cool! He's had massive success being part of MYNC Project etc, but working with Mick was more like just chilling with a mate and playing round with music... We actually made that track in my house when we were between moving studios in Pyrmont :D I'm going over to the UK in October and ill see Nick again then
Our tune will be out very soon, just waiting on remixes to come in... You can have a listen to it and other stuff on my Myspace for the moment.
Was there a moment when you knew you had made in your field?
Tom Piper: Ahhh haha I still don't think I've "made it", but I suppose I'm doing ok :D I've been doing this since I finished high school and even in high school I was working on music.. so mmmm "made it" I don't know, but I'm making it, slowly.. hahaha I guess!
You are flat out busy at the moment, what do you do when you do have a second to relax?
Tom Piper: I like going to dinner with friends and watching movies and stuff... But I really enjoy playing and writing music, and I'm always doing it with friends as well... so its sort of like relax time too
since I run my own labels and work for myself its not sooo demanding
What you put in is what you get out, I just like putting a lot in and to keep things moving

What is the biggest challenge you have faced along the way to your musical success?
Tom Piper: I'm not sure.. I'd have to think about this a bit longer, perhaps balancing family / relationship stuff with work
Because I think I work 24/7.. its not like i do 9 to 5.. my blackberry is always on.. every night I'm either at a gig or in the studio... and during the day I'm either resting or in studio too... but I like it like that!
Do you prefer performing live or recording?
Tom Piper: Hard choice here, umm I suppose depends where I'm performing.. or what I'm recording :D either / or!
