Tough Mudder Tough Love Wave

Seven women on The Bachelor set out to prove themselves worthy of one man's love by tackling the Tough Mudder course on national television. Now everyone who watched at home can have their own chance of finding some-muddy to love with the launch of the new Tough Mudder -Tough Love' start wave.

The globally renowned 18-20km obstacle course, the ultimate test of teamwork, strength and mental grit, is inviting Australians keen to find someone special to join other singles and help each other through the course where there is the potential for sparks to fly.

This year sees the introduction of the Tough Mudder Half for the first time in Australia - a 10km event format that excludes the more extreme elements like ice, fire and electricity. Participants can sign up for the Tough Love start wave in both the full and half Tough Mudder events happening later this year in Sydney & Melbourne.

'We were inspired by the Bachelor's efforts to find love in the mud so we launched -Tough Love' to help encourage even more love matches to be made on the course," said Paul Mudge, Tough Mudder Australia.

'Navigating today's modern dating world is similar to taking part in Tough Mudder. It can be daunting for many people, and feel like you are tackling a minefield of unknown territory. But perseverance and a positive attitude can result in proving that you are capable of doing anything.

'We know that the dating game is changing and it can be hard to find love, which is why people are signing up to appear on reality shows. But what better way to strip away the façade and awkwardness of dating than by jumping feet first into mud and finding out what someone is really made of," said Mudge.

In fact, 28 per cent of men have dated or hooked up with someone they met while working out1 so lining up on the Tough Mudder start line could help you on the way to finding love.

Aussie singletons can register for the -Tough Love' start wave at the Sydney event at Glenworth Valley on Saturday, 22 October 2016 and the Melbourne event at St Anne's Winery on Saturday, 19 November 2016. Each event will feature the Tough Mudder Half on both days.

Tough Mudder this year is set to be even bigger with the introduction of a host of new obstacles including The Block Ness Monster, the most highly anticipated obstacle in Tough Mudder history, requiring teams to clamber over rotating blocks in waist deep water, and Pyramid Scheme, unlike its namesake, this obstacle is all about teamwork as you scramble, climb and push your way up a slippery incline. This year's events will offer new and exciting challenges for seasoned Mudders as well as first timers in what is set to be another unforgettable event.
