Verdict: Water For Elephants is set in the 1930's and is narrated through the eyes of young Jacob, a poor, 23-year-old veterinary school student who happens to jump on board the Benzini Bros. Circus train, after leaving college due to his parents tragic death. Jacob becomes the circus vet and as the story progresses he becomes an acquaintance of August (Christophe Waltz), the circus boss, and his beautiful wife, Marlena (Reese Witherspoon).
Jacob begins training the newest star attraction to the circus, the beautiful elephant, Rosie, and as he works closely with Marlena he begins to fall for her. Filled with gorgeous circus animals and interesting characters Water For Elephants is so much more than a circus story, it is a journey of forbidden love.
Overall Water For Elephants is a lovely film that showcases true romance and just like The Notebook, is a love story you will wish you were apart of...
