Wok on Inn opens at Sydney Olympic Park

Visitors to Sydney's largest sporting, cultural and leisure complex will soon be able to experience the authentic taste of Asia when Wok on Inn opens its sixth restaurant with a Free Noodle Day at Olympic Park on Tuesday 1st of March.

With flaming woks, fragrant aromas, funky artwork and a menu designed to transport diners to the bustling streets of Asia, street noodle bar Wok on Inn takes guests on a vibrant flavour safari, from Bangkok and Shanghai to Kuala Lumpar and Jakarta.

Leading the team for the Wok on Inn restaurant group, Chef Nut Kunlert brings 20 years of Asian cooking experience to Australia. Having worked at leading restaurants in Thailand, India, Pakistan and Dubai, Chef Nut's memories of cooking still remind him of home, where at an early age he helped his mum prepare her special Curry Paste.

Cooking up true hawker-style street food, the chefs behind the woks deliver authentic homemade recipes from their childhood mixed with Asian street culture to the lively group of Sydney-based street noodle bars. Celebrating the opening with free Pad Thai, Penang Satay Noodles and Bangkok Noodles from 11:30am to 8:00pm, Wok on Inn will recreate the streets of Asia, allowing diners to immerse themselves in the distinct taste of exotic flavours.

Using ingredients of the highest quality and imitating the renowned ready-to-eat element of street food, Wok on Inn creates delicious and fresh dishes with bold flavours that really hit the taste buds. Believing in the Taoist principles of yin and yang, the street noodle bar bases its menu on the idea that opposite ingredients set in balance ensures harmony at the table and in the body.

Ankur Sehgal, Wok on Inn Managing Director, says, "Wok on Inn serves up true hawker-style street food, going back-to-basics and drawing inspiration from how our grandmas made traditional dishes in the 60s and 70s. We pride ourselves on the quality of our food and we're excited to bring this vibrant Asian experience to Olympic Park.

"Our extensive menu, which spans six Asian countries, is bursting with flavour; using a blend of authentic sauces and pastes, herbs and spices, combined with the freshest produce to bring out a diverse taste of exotic culture."

Helping those in need, Wok on Inn supports Hands Across the Water, a charity in Thailand which provides food, shelter, education, accommodation and opportunities for several hundred Thai children. For every dollar donated by diners on Free Noodle Day, Wok on Inn will match the money raised to give the communities a helping hand.

With its edgy urban atmosphere and authentic food, Wok on Inn delivers a true street style experience. Opening on Monday 29th February, the new Olympic Park restaurant is located at Tenancy 6, 2 Dawn Fraser Avenue, Novotel Sydney Olympic Park and will be open for lunch and dinner (BYO wine only) from Monday to Sunday from 11:30am – 9:00pm.

Situated in six locations, Asian street noodle bar Wok on Inn takes diners on a flavour safari with a vibrant and authentic menu of eight Asian cultures. For 15 years, dishes have been created with a back-to-basics feel and offering real food with real ingredients, pastes and spices are blended and combined with the freshest produce. Whether it's homemade recipes from the hawker stands of Bangkok and Shanghai or creating an edgy and urban atmosphere within their restaurants, Wok on Inn was created to deliver the best of Asian street food.
