DENI HINES IS IN A FRENZY!

DENI HINES IS IN A FRENZY!
Deni Hines still has the fellas in a frenzy. And she breaks it down, as only a young soul priestess can, on her fresh new single, appropriately titled Frenzy.

Excuse me, for getting all the fellas in a frenzy, I just can't help it if they feel me, Hines sings to her flustered jealous guy over clattering nu-soul beats and a gritty, street-raised bassline.

Excuse my ability to make a grown man cry, or make a head turn ... I swear it ain't nothing but a technicality.

In real life, Deni Hines has no alibi, other than the fact she was born to do this.

The daughter of definitive soul chanteuse, Marcia Hines, Deni was raised on a healthy musical diet of classic soul (Stevie Wonder), pop (Abba) and folk (James Taylor).

Her breakthrough as a lead vocalist, and charismatic focal point for music video, came in 1990 when Hines fronted Sydney RB collective, The Rockmelons, for three hit singles, Ain't No Sunshine, That Word (L.O.V.E) and It's Not Over.

She dabbled in theatre, cast as Mary Magdalene in Harry M. Miller's 1992 production of Jesus Christ Superstar, before cementing a solo career with a hit single, It's Alright, and album Imagination, a 1996 record of fluid funk 'n' soul released five years ahead of the new millennium RB renaissance.

Imagination - on the strength of singles It's Alright and I Like The Way - sold 300,000 copies in Japan alone, and was also a big hit in France. Joy was recently remixed and released in the US with huge success and enjoyed a lengthy stay in the Billboard Club Charts at #3.

In the UK, where It's Alright and I Like The Way were a top 40 smashes, the critically-acclaimed album was re-packaged and re-titled Pay Attention.

In 1997, the album Remix Your Imagination featured updated, clubby interpretations of familiar material, and bonus tracks including Delicious.

Hines says her forthcoming album - as yet untitled, and featuring collaborations with top producers and artists, including The Family Stand - is the tastiest project yet.

So watch out music lovers because Deni Hines is back with a vengeance and will have you in a frenzy, too!
