Speaking on the new single BOY SODA said, "I was really thinking about my relationship between thought and belief and how they were influenced by the things I consume. I think it's so easy to find yourself regurgitating phrases you don't understand but have seen a tiktok about and find yourself
lost in this place where none of your thoughts are your own. It was also born from me seeing all this discussion around love languages, and attachment styles and feeling like everyone was missing the point on listening to their own intuition or emotions.
Everyone wants to live off the land again, and move to more organic, natural lifestyles, and I relate to that desire, and understand that it comes from overconsumption of media and feeling like in my own head, there are too many cooks in the kitchen. Blink twice is my reminder to stay awake and stay in tune.
We completed the song in the blue mountains with a lot of other music and we had the luxury of live strings, live horns, live everything, so it felt aligned to have so much organic matter in the recording itself, because after all it is a song about connection and doing things that continue to ground you."
'Blink Twice' follows BOY SODA's latest single 'Lil Obsession' - which last month surpassed 3 Million streams and received a full add on triple j, and praise from music tastemakers around the world including PopSamCam, Sleepingongems, _itsjust_camm, and The Morning Shift Show, as well as Rolling Stone Australia, NME, Sniffers, Viper Mag (UK), Headliner Magazine (UK), MTV, Acclaim and Life Without Andy. To commemorate the release, BOY SODA released the 'Lil Obsession (Live Version)' on YouTube.
BOY SODA has seen meaningful moments of support from Australia's triple j, including a memorable Bars of Steel performance that showcased the range of his artistry. His 2022 single 'BIG' was featured in Netflix's global hit series Heartbreak High and was also part of the CONVERSE ALLSTARS program. Last year, in partnership with Converse, BOY SODA launched the SODA SESSIONS series, which spotlighted unreleased music and hosted artist-on-artist discussions within his community. In addition to his musical achievements, BOY SODA has delivered standout performances for the Sydney Kings NBL and luxury label Hermès, further solidifying his reputation as a dynamic live performer.
2025 will continue to shape up to be a massive year for BOY SODA. Stay tuned for more exciting news and music soon.
