The Central Coast musical prodigy
Chelsea Berman returns with her latest single
'Tastes like a Hangover'. This new release follows on from her successful 2021 EP
Can You Just Not which topped the iTunes Country charts and guarantees to be the party starting tune of the year.
At the tender age of 23,
Berman has already had a long career in country
music. Starting her journey at age 8, she has worked hard to build her style and sound into something unique. She has achieved great success already with her pop country stylings and her momentum is continuing to build.
'Tastes Like a Hangover' is a track that sounds like a party, masking and ignoring the inevitable comedown the next day.
Berman says
: "This song is inspired by my own hangovers, at 23 you wouldn't think they would be that bad - but as the song says, I definitely spend the next day on the bathroom floor after a few too many Fireball shots."
The track was co-written with
Troy Kemp, and produced by
Rod McCormack (
Gina Jefferies, Adam Harvey, Beccy Cole) at The Music Cellar.
"I came to Troy Kemp with the idea for the song and he loved it, so we wrote the song and he added a different angle of 'making the night worthwhile' so the next day you can remember all of the fun you had the night before!" Berman says
"The track was produced by Rod McCormack who did an amazing job and gave the song a pop/country feel that is sure to help you dance the night away!"
Chelsea Berman has already gathered many achievements in her career, including being a finalist in the
Toyota Star Maker competition at the
Tamworth Country Music Festival. She has co-written with Nashville hitmakers
Phil Barton and
Jason Duke, signed a publishing deal with
Kobalt Music, and has
written with local artists such as
Matt Scullion,
Kirsty Lee Akers, and
Melanie Dyer.
Berman has also toured extensively and shared the stage with artists including
Travis Collins, Brad Cox, Amber Lawrence and
Hurricane Fall. Her
Fresh Country Tour was created with
Jake Davey and has seen multiple sold out shows across the east coast of Australia - Berman plans to take the show to Queensland and to the
Tamworth Country Music Festival. She has also played at many festivals throughout Australia including
Gympie Muster, Groundwater Country Festival and
Country Rocks the Capital.
With the release of
Berman's Can You Just Not EP hitting
#1 on
the
iTunes Country Album chart,
#5 iTunes All Genres, a coveted
Album of the Week feature on
ABC Country, and her previous single
'Waste My Time' peaking at
#22 on
The Music Network CountryTown Hot 50 airplay charts,
Berman's career is progressing at an unstoppable pace.
'
Tastes Like a Hangover' is the party soundtrack song for right now, with
Berman herself summing it up perfectly as
"the drinking song you never knew you needed."
