Gold Coast singer-songwriter Chloe Styler is shining bright after recently releasing her gorgeous single 'Girlfriend'.
Gently melding indie, pop and country into this addictive number, Styler and co-writer Sarah Buckley (The Buckleys) pieced together a wholesome, feel-good track.
Styler is now pairing the track with the absolutely stunning visual accompaniment that depicts the undeniable empowerment which comes from knowing what you want in a relationship.
Like a Disney fairytale that meets 80's pop, the clip boasts Styler in an elegant dress on dreamlike sets wrapped up in a pink ribbon. However, where perhaps Disney fairytales had their feminist fails, Styler is about her agency - knowing what she wants, being in her own control and not being manipulated.
The clip could not have been without the help of director Madeline Alice Randall as well as funding from the Regional Arts Development Fund - a partnership between Queensland Government and the City of Gold Coast Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland. Styler States:
"I'm so excited to release the music video for Girlfriend! I'm incredibly grateful to the City of Gold Coast and Arts Queensland for supporting this project through the Regional Arts Development Fund."
She continues, "This is my favourite music video that I've released so far and I'm quite certain it's because I had the pleasure of working with Madeline Alice Randall on this project. Madeline is incredibly talented and I knew she would be the right person to bring my very specific vision to life. Throughout the whole process; from writing the song, to recording it, to planning the clip and executing the final product, I envisioned pink (& lots of it!). I wanted this music video to be fun and a little bit flirty, so Tamzen Holland brought the drama with the styling - talk about cowgirl boots of my dreams."
The single has already been widely received by the likes of: Apple Music, landing on playlists like New Music Daily, Lil Bit Country, Aussie Country and Country Risers; KIX Country Radio; KIIS Sydney; ABC Radio; Capital Country Radio; Countrytown; AAA Backstage; Scenestr; Aus Music Scene; and has landed at #4 on the AMRAP Regional charts (week commencing 23rd of May).
Styler's previous releases have landed on the Country Hot 50 Chart (AUS) and seen support from Amnplify, Women In Pop, The Music Network and more. Styler has also supported the likes of Lee Kernaghan, Troy Cassar-Daley and Fanny Lumsden and was confirmed to play at CMA Fest in Nashville in 2020 before being cancelled due to covid. Chloe Styler is clearly continuing on her upward trajectory towards pop-country queendom.
