Felix Freeze

Felix Freeze

In 1998 five young musicians began performing at back yard parties and the occasional pub gig. Over the next two years the band?s line up would go through several changes including the addition of a second vocalist. By the year 2000 (with an established line up of Melissa & Karin on vocals, Adrian on drums/vocals, Lisa on bass, Joseph on guitar and Robert on keyboards) Felix was ready for the next step.

The band wanted to become the most accomplished live band they could be, performing in venues throughout Perth most nights of the week. It was a hectic schedule but one that would prove invaluable. Some eighteen months later with crowd sizes growing and the popularity of the band on the increase, Felix turned to song writing and spent many hours in the studio fine-tuning their sound.

Mid 2005 saw the release of Felix?s first CD, an EP entitled ?Miss a Thing? produced by Eddie Parise (?Baby Animals? founding member). With support from commercial radio, including Nova 937 and 92.9fm, the song reached number 20 on the A.I.R charts prompting the band to release a second single 'Sorry To The X' in early December. (also lifted from the EP). The band has gone on to sell 2000 copies of the EP in WA alone in just 3 short months, an awesome result for any band?s first independent release.

Having recently been invited to support Thirsty Merc and Taxiride on the WA leg of their tours, as well as scoring one of the coveted spots on the upcoming Fremantle Beer Festival Lineup alongside The Stems and Killing Heidi the future is bright for this awesome band.

The band have most recently finalised the recording of their new EP FREEZE which will be released nationally through MGM in August 2006. The first single FREEZE shows a real maturity by the band in the studio and highlights the slow burn vocals of both Mel and Karin. A truly great radio rock song. The rest of the EP sees the band stretching it?s creative legs with a couple of great self penned rock tracks in Apple of My Eye and Floating High as well as a special 'acoustic' track to round out the EP Now That I?m Gone which features the accomplished and emotive vocals of the band?s drummer Adrian in his recorded debut.

Felix will be launching the EP with a swag of WA shows including a very special show at Challenge Stadium supporting INXS in mid September(upon INXS? request) and will follow these shows with a series of East Coast showcase gigs later in the year.
