To Arthur, (James McAvoy) the young son of Santa (Jim Broadbent), this oversight threatens to end Christmas magic itself. Arthur enlists the help of retired Grandsanta (Bill Nighy), a rebellious young elf (Ashley Jensen), an old sleigh and some untrained reindeer to rectify the mistake and save the spirit of Christmas.
