Dear Tommie Presents New Single "A Man, Written By A Woman"

Dear Tommie Presents New Single

Hailing from Australia's country music mecca, Tamworth – Dear Tommie - has always been somewhat of an enigma amongst her peers.

Her music is salted with blues and roots inspiration from Leon Bridges and peppered with the mountain stylings of Zach Bryan. Together, her blend of earthy worlds paints a cinematic landscape of her Mid-West country music.

Dear Tommie's latest single, "A Man, Written By A Woman", explores themes of gender dynamics and the complexities of male identity as perceived through a female lens. This contemporary cultural phenomenon - where certain male characters are described as being 'written by women' - signifies a portrayal that emphasises sensitivity and emotional intelligence whilst still embodying a traditional sense of what it means to be a good man.

Dear Tommie says, she has found many male friends and family members have an internal rejection of their own masculinity due to societal challenges caused by generational undertones.

"The song challenges conventional notions of masculinity by celebrating traits often associated with female perspectives such as empathy and vulnerability", she says.

"It reflects a love for men who are allies for equality and in a world where you can be strong but gentle and bold, yet still kind".

"A Man, Written By A Woman" is a term she hopes is used to gain a further understanding for each other by embracing qualities that traditionally are viewed as a contrast without losing your identity.

2024 was a big year for Dear Tommie, supporting the likes of Dasha and the ARIA nominated Tori Forsyth. She was also the writer and producer behind Bella Mackenzie's number one smash, "Cowboy". She moved into 2025 with huge momentum and is hotly being hailed as one of Australia's 'new artists to watch'.

Dear Tommie - "A Man, Written By A Woman" - is out now.
