Glasvegas When The TV Turns To Static

Platinum-selling Glaswegians Glasvegas will release their third studio album Later...When The TV Turns To Static in Australia on September 13th via BMG Rights/Cooking Vinyl Australia.

Later...When The TV Turns To Static is the next chapter in Glasvegas' signature story of heartfelt melancholia; a soaring sadness lifting the soul into heights of abandoned euphoria encapsulated in a staggering and emotive 42 minute sojourn through broken relationships and 'the mad energy" of the world.

From title track Later...When The TV Turns To Static which features a landslide of guitars thundering towards a cliff-face, crashing on the shore of a simple acoustic reverie to the gloriously melancholy Secret Truth echoing Joy Division at their most spectral to Choices - an exquisite sonnet  and piano epic featuring a 5am recording of James Allan's heartbeat to the epic monolith Finished Sympathy; a sonic memorial to brutally lost innocence, Glasvegas' third studio album is a searing soundscape which marks a new chapter for one of the UK's most fervently supported bands.

Later...When The TV Turns To Static was written both in lead singer and songwriter James Allan's Glasgow home and the Glasvegas practice room AKA the 'Cave" and was recorded and produced by Allan at Gorbals Studio using a vintage sound desk once owned by Decca Records (the one Pavarotti's definitive Nessun Dorma was recorded on).

Six years since Glasvegas were declared 'Scotland's most important band", James Allan has been taking stock - of his band, his world and his purpose. Through Later...When The TV Turns To Static, Glasvegas are returning to their roots to deliver a triumphant record which echoes the heartfelt social realism they have made their own.
