Jake Davey Returns with Emotionally Charged Country-Pop Anthem 'No Good For Me'
With over 2.5 million artist streams to date, Jake Davey returns with 'No Good for Me', an emotionally charged country-pop release that feels like late-night vulnerability wrapped in catchy as hell hook.

Co-written in Nashville with Tyler Bank, the single dives headfirst into the back and forth of wanting something you know isn't good for you. Wrapped in moody pedal steel, big drums and roaring guitars, 'No Good for Me' captures the emotional whiplash between clarity and temptation, sitting comfortably in the space between heartache and addiction.

"No Good for Me focuses on the tension of wanting something you know you should walk away from but never quite can,"
Jake explains. "The song explores that push and pull between clarity and blurred lines, where doing the right thing feels simple in theory, but impossible in practice."

Sonically, it blends traditional country textures, pedal steel and acoustic warmth with subtle pop elements, creating a sound that feels both grounded and current. Produced, mixed and mastered by Jake himself - featuring Travis Toy on pedal steel and Alex Wright on keys, alongside Jackson James on guitars and Rhys Zacher on drums - every little detail was tracked with purpose.

"Starting with a raw, intimate foundation, each layer was carefully added to elevate the emotion of the song,"
tells the singer-songwriter. "The result is a cohesive, dynamic song that feels both grounded and forward-leaning. It's a fresh take on country pop, shaped by collaboration and designed to bring the story to life in a way that hits with both subtlety and impact."

Following the previous single 'Workin' On Me', which landed at #38 on the CountryTown Hot 50 Airplay Chart, #6 on the AMRAP Regional Airplay Chart, #9 on the AMRAP National Airplay Chart, and earned support from major editorial playlists across Spotify and Apple Music - 'No Good For Me' arrives as another confident step forward for an artist continuing to blur the lines between modern country storytelling and polished pop production.

Outside of his own releases, Jake has quietly become one of the most in-demand creative names working behind the scenes in Australian country music. Through photography, videography, audio production and content creation via Jake Davey Studios, he continues helping other artists bring their vision to life - recently working alongside Rachael Fahim creating content during her tour with Jordan Davis. It's a role that mirrors the same work ethic and creative drive that have fuelled his rise as an artist in his own right.

That determination has already carried Jake through a remarkable career journey - from touring nationally and sharing stages with artists including Travis Collins and James Johnston, to becoming a Top 10 Grand Finalist in the Toyota Star Maker competition and overcoming a life-changing spinal cord injury that once threatened his future in music entirely.

Now entering a new creative chapter, 'No Good for Me' feels like the sound of an artist fully locked into who he is - emotionally raw and sonically fearless.
