Lime Cordiale and The Kid LAROI take out the very first awards for Australian #1 Album and Australian #1 Single this week, as ARIA introduces two new trophies to shine an even greater light on homegrown success.

 
On taking out the inaugural award for Australian #1 Album, Lime Cordiale said:
"We're seriously proud to take home the first official Australian #1 Album Award. We think It's awesome that ARIA are awarding Australian for the #1 spot because it's not an easy feat for Australians to get above the noise, especially against international commercial artists. Australian musicians do it for the art first and so many still don't realise just how good the quality of Aussie music really is."

 
 
From today, two new weekly Aussie #1 Awards will celebrate the truly outstanding achievement climbing to the top of the ARIA Australian Albums and Singles Charts, in addition to the regular award given for achieving a #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart or Singles Chart.
