Mia Wray Unveils New Single 'Isn't It Funny'
Today, Mia Wray shares new single 'Isn't It Funny', a poignant follow-up to her first infectious release of the year 'When We Were Young'. The single arrives off the back off the ARIA-nominated artist's biggest support tour to date, joining global superstar for Ed Sheeran on his monumental 17-date stadium run across Australia and New Zealand.

Written with Sydney producer, songwriter and artist Xavier Dunn (Peking Duk, Hayden James, Jack River), 'Isn't It Funny' captures the complicated dynamic of outgrown relationships - balancing nostalgia with quiet acceptance. Mia describes the song as "a kind of telepathic hug" to past friends, a message of: "hi, I hope you're well and all your dreams are coming true, I still think about you a lot and I wonder if you think of me too."

"This song is about two best friends slowly outgrowing each other " how someone can go from feeling like family to becoming a complete stranger. Xavier Dunn and I wrote this song together, and I was drawing from personal experience around that kind of loss… that strange feeling when you run into someone you once did everything with and feel that painful throb in your chest because you miss them deeply, but also know that if you sat down together today, you'd barely recognise each other anymore. Sometimes love is still there, but the connection isn't " and they no longer belong in your life the way they once did.

Heartbreaking stuff…in some ways, I think losing a friend can hurt even more than a romantic breakup. There's no clean ending to hold onto " just a slow grieving of someone who's still out there, living a life that no longer includes you."

Mia has shown no signs of slowing down, having recently wrapped a headline east coast 'When We Were Young' tour, with sold-out shows across Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.
