Three Masterminds

Brisbane electro-pop band MTNS comprises of three masterminds; Tom Eggert, Robbie Hellberg and Joseph Thiang. In the lead up to their highly anticipated Like A Stone EP, they have released a track that is certainly a good indicator of what's to come.

Waves is a song that trudges through thick electronic productions which in a way reflects the message of the track.

"Waves' is about how we experience different stages in life, with a specific focus on relationships. It's based on how love can help us overcome things, and work through the ups and downs we often find ourselves in," MTNS said.

Eggert's vocals resonate beautifully throughout the soundscape embodying the ebb and flow of the ocean, as bass lines round out the score.

The track has clearly revealed more to the trio than what lies on the surface. Sometimes delving deeper into the song is what leads to self-discovery.

"It's impossible for humans to go through life without encountering both positive and negative aspects. It's interesting what we learn about ourselves in these different scenarios. Sometimes we meet a side of ourselves we didn't expect," MTNS said.
