2025 recipient of the CMAA Nashville Sister City Exchange, Nathan Lamont, dives heart-first into big hooks and good vibes on his new single 'Younger'.
Following the success of his previous hit 'What Comes After' which hit #32 on the CountryTown Hot 50 airplay chart, Nathan delivers his signature blend of swagger and heart-on-sleeve songwriting in what feels like an instant classic. With an infectious backbeat and Nathan's vocal soaring in the endlessly singable chorus, 'Younger' musically mimics the butterflies of falling for someone new.
"This song's for when you've been into someone for a while, and you both know it, but no one's done a damn thing about it" shares Nathan. "You've been playing it cool and dragging it out, pretending it's casual, but deep down, you're just waiting for one of you to say - screw it, let's stop messing around. It's fun, flirty, a little reckless, but in a way that feels right."
Written and produced with heavyweight hitmakers MSquared (Sara Berki, Taylor Moss), the track came together as effortlessly as it sounds.
"I went into the studio on the first day of two days with a hook line that had come to me in the morning as I was driving down to Melbourne from my hometown of Wagga. The whole process from writing to recording the song was effortless and all happened within the space of a single day. Really indicative of how effortless it is to work with the incredible pair of Michaels from MSquared, who completely understand my style, vibe and overall sound."
With a stunning visualiser to boot - shot by Jeremy Minett of Eyes and Ears Creative - 'Younger' radiates pure fun and positivity. "Jeremy and I pretty much ran riots around the scenic areas of Gunning NSW"Nathan laughs. "The creative idea behind the visualiser was built entirely by Jeremy – capturing the energy and narrative of the song, kinda like time was running out and I had to be somewhere quickly."
2025 has already been a massive year for the rising star - over 2.4M streams globally, a finalist nod in the APRA Professional Development Awards and the recipient of the CMAA Nashville Sister City Exchange - a program that saw him travel to Nashville to collaborate with industry mentors, songwriters and artists.
And he's not slowing down. Nathan will round out the year with a run of live shows, including sharing the stage with Aussie icons Ian Moss, 1927 and The Superjesus at the Carnival of Cups in Wagga Wagga, before rolling into the 54th annual Tamworth Country Music Festival.
Catchy, confident, and bursting with feel-good energy, 'Younger' is a song built for car radios, festival stages and late-night singalongs. Nathan Lamont makes it clear he's a singer / songwriter unafraid to chase what feels good and say what he means.
