New World Artists Welcomes 'Purple Disturbance' To Its Exclusive Agency Roster
From the team that's raised some of Australia's most iconic cutting-edge artists " including Silverchair, Grinspoon, Mallrat, Sneaky Sound System, SOFIA ISELLA, Redhook, Ocean Sleeper, IXARAS, Ennaria, and Ninajirachi " New World Artists is proud to announce the signing of Purple Disturbance, the razor-sharp post-punk/alt-rock four-piece from New South Wales.
Fresh out of high school but road-tested and ready, Purple Disturbance are raw, fearless and unapologetic " tackling small-town truths and big city chaos with riffs that bite and hooks that don't let go. The 'Disturbances' high-voltage live show has already seen them share stages with the likes of Grinspoon, Frenzal Rhomb, Dune Rats, The Screaming Jets, Beddy Rays, Goons Of Doom and Private Function, and the road ahead looks just as exciting.

Lead singer Thom channels the spirit of a young Jim Morrison and the frenetic energy of Iggy Pop, his vocal swagger riding over a rhythm section that hits with the force of a freight train. Brother Josh locks down the low end with driving bass lines. Jess unleashes drums with Keith Moon–like zeal, and Jed's gritty Gretsch cuts through it all with raw precision. The result is a sound that tips its hat to The Ramones and IDLES yet remains unmistakably their own " urgent, electrifying punk delivered with explosive energy.
The band's current single, Criticise, Penalise, Attack and Slam (CPAS) released by Anti Dismal Records, has already been added to numerous iTunes editorial playlists and over 52 Spotify playlists, with two Purple Disturbance tracks making the soundtrack of DUNNO, a surf film by Rip Curl - proving their tracks hit hard both on stage and in headphones.
