Rich Valentine Drops Crispy Rhymes with 'Ricca Donna' Ft. A$AP Twelvyy

Perth-grown nine-piece hip-hop ensemble Rich Valentine returns to the Australian rap scene offering a new set of crispy rhymes with 'Ricca Donna' featuring US-based A$AP Twelvyy from the popular collective A$AP Mob that also houses the likes of A$AP Rocky and A$AP Ferg. The single alongside the complementary visuals will be available on November 15th and will premiere via Life Without Andy.

Ricca Donna offers a creative insight into the collective's lifestyle which involves a whirlwind of partying, hustle and of course, brotherhood. The exciting visuals are paired with well-done transitions and quaint locations from beginning to end and highlights the youthful energy of the collective. Ricca Donna follows after successful releases such as 'La Haine', an earlier release that A$AP Twelvyy stumbled across while touring Australia, leading to a collaboration that will increase Australia's Hip-Hop presence on an international scale. For them, the single is for all the youth in Australia that they represent.

"Made by kids for the kids just to remind people that we are kids and we do it for the kids. The whole city, all of Australia and all of the fans should feel this is history." - Rich Valentine

Influenced by greats such as Kanye West, Claude Debussy and Michelangelo, Rich Valentine has steered their way to local success, most notably in their home city of Perth, performing at Jack Rabbit Slim's, an iconic venue for artists on the rise, they now plan to take make noise on an international level with this release. A$AP Twelvyy rose to stardom alongside the A$AP Mob collective and featured on the group's debut mixtape 'Lords Never Worry' in 2012 and has been consistent in releasing music since.

Rich Valentine plans to release more music before the year ends as well as work with other international artists in the future.

Interview with Rich Valentine

Question: How would you describe your music?

Rich Valentine: Eclectic; we enjoy all sorts of flavours and colours of music so naturally when we create ours we try to push boundaries.

Question: What inspired the track Ricca Donna?

Rich Valentine: With A$AP TWELVYY in the room we couldn't help but feel like young kings, so the song's lyrics parallel that.

Question: Do you prefer performing live or recording?

Rich Valentine: To be honest we've only had a taste of live performance. We know that our live shows go crazy so were hungry for bigger crowds but there's also something so magical about the process of making music. I think those two practices can't be compared, there both just as beautiful as each other.

Question: Which is your favourite song to perform live and why?

Rich Valentine: Suce Ma Bite and Cake. Suce Ma Bite goes crazy and for Cake you'll just have to come down and see.

Question: If you could have anyone, in the world, attend a show, who would it be?

Rich Valentine: Family that are no longer with us or ones that can't attend the shows.

Question: What is the story behind the band name?

Rich Valentine: Each word in the name reflects a famous quote that makes the backbone of our company.
RICH; "Rich is in the mind not the pocket"
VALENTINE; "E l'amore che move il sole e l'altre stelle"

Question: How did the band come together?

Rich Valentine: Were all friends first, then the music just followed.

Question: What motivates you most when writing music?

Rich Valentine: It's different with every song; we might get motivated by a certain colour or painting, or even the way a girl twists her hair.

Question: Which music/artists are you currently listening to?

Rich Valentine: Skepta, Tyler, The Creator.

Question: What or who was your inspiration to go into the music industry?

Rich Valentine: Kanye West.

Question: If you could collaborate with another artist, who would it be?

Rich Valentine: The Neptunes.

Question: What is the biggest challenge you have faced along the way to your musical success?
Rich Valentine: Creative freedom, were still just starting out, we want to make music all day every day and go on tour but we have to pay rent.

Question: What's a typical day like? Five beats a day.

Question: What has been your favourite part of becoming a music artist?

Rich Valentine: Receiving even the smallest compliment from a fan; being able to touch someone is a blessing.

Question: Can you share your socials?
