Mind blowing, socially minded and musically outspoken - the baddest babes of hip rock 'n roll... proudly present their new video for The Heist.
After a triumphant 2013 that saw She-Rex unleash their fiery debut self-titled EP to critical acclaim, wow crowds with a memorable set at BIGSOUND and tour with the likes of Stonefield, The Preatures and Wolfmother, this Sydney powerhouse unleashes the next cut, the video for new single The Heist.
Against a delirious backdrop of widescreen landscapes and Australiana, retribution seethes under a feminine facade - a roadtrip with a fixed point - the hunt. Interspersed with images of the band playing live, the video is a cinematic affair, an exercise in savage beauty between its uniquely Australian flavour and the brand of uncompromising femininity She-Rex have become known for.

Question: How would you describe your music?
Nikkita Rast: Big, boomy, in yo face like a cherry pie.
Question: What was the main inspiration behind The Heist?
Nikkita Rast: The Heist was written with Quantum Physics in mind. What do you want? You can have it, but only if you will it of course.
Question: Do you write your own songs? What's your inspiration?
Nikkita Rast: Yes, of course. Our inspiration is to inspire.
Question: What music/artists do you listen to when you are not playing your own?
Nikkita Rast: Erykah Badu, Queens of the Stoneage, Warpaint, Kendrick Lamar, Violent Soho, M.I.A, Santigold, John Lennon and Mozart.
 Question: What's next? Tour/Album/Single?
Nikkita Rast: We will be doing a little tour before end of May. Deets TBA.
Question: Was there a moment you contemplated throwing in the towel?
Nikkita Rast: Never had this question before. Yes, I guess we have all felt this way at one point or another. Then the music starts and we can't help but play along again. I'm not quite sure who I would be without music. It's my best friend but a bitch sometimes too. It's that relationship that I don't think you can ever really ever walk away from. There are way too many items in the pro column right now anyways.
Question: Do you prefer performing live or recording?
Nikkita Rast: LIVE is where I feel most ALIVE.
Question: What/who was your inspiration to go into the music industry?
 Nikkita Rast: MUSIC fullstop!
Question: What is the biggest challenge you have faced along the way to your musical success?
Nikkita Rast: Busy, busy, busy and then a little more busy, with a garnish of busy.
Question: What's a typical day like?
Nikkita Rast: Busy, busy, busy and then a little more busy, with a garnish of busy.
Question: What has been your favourite part of becoming a music artist?
Nikkita Rast: The catharsis of it all. From writing to sharing. I think I would be a bit nuts if I didn't have a creative vessel to channel my crazy and OCD into. Also, standing on stage and getting a huge crowd of people to yell "fuck Abbott'' is quite a buzz and plus too.
Question: If you could collaborate with another artist, who would it be?
Nikkita Rast: Dead or alive? Dead? Lennon. Alive? Erykah Badu.
Question: What message would you like your music to say to your fans?
Nikkita Rast: Do you and be proud of that. Look around and like what you see, or if you don't, then change it. Get to know your P.O.W.E.R.
Question: What is the story behind the name, She-Rex?
Nikkita Rast: It was a joke that became serious. But we are still fun at the same time. Come to a gig and we'll show ya!
