The Kids The Family Situation

The Kids The Family Situation

It's a passage into the depths of a teenage mind. Furious, cold, hateful, anxious, and upset, the track speaks of destructive home situations and provides a voice for those who are voiceless.

"This song was written all the way back in 2016, and only recorded last year. We never looked at it to be a single but with the shit that is going on in the world at the moment, it's hard to get a recording session," says Jagger Alexander-Erber. "So, to keep all you folks happy we decided to reach back into the vault and pull this out. With the stuff we are writing now and the band we are becoming, we are happy to release this song because it is our last waypoint in our "old" discography. Or maybe even the last hurrah on an old sound. Other than that, this song is a passage into the deepest depths of my 13-year-old mind."

ABOUT THE KIDS
The Kids are led by prodigy drummer Jagger Alexander-Erber who also plays in several other bands, including Moon. Since forming, the Sydneysiders have torn it up across the globe, supporting both national and international acts including Billy Idol, Skid Row, LA Guns, Living Colour, Rose Tattoo and Guns N' Roses' keyboardist Dizzy Reed.

The Kids have made it their mission to reinvent punk rock for a new generation. Aside from filling their tracks with teen angst, the band has also drawn inspiration from the punk and grunge greats of the past, with their sound channelling anything from Nirvana, Dead Kennedys and Bad Brains, to Generation X, Black Flag and The Sex Pistols.
