The Steadfast Tin Soldier

German theatre company Thalias Kompagnons takes an innovative approach to Hans Christian Anderson's famous story. Using a large clear canvas and paint, performer Joachim Torbahn recreates the tale of The Steadfast Tin Soldier by painting the scenes as the story unfolds, wiping paint away between scenes as swiftly as turning the page of a book. Through this technique of vigorous live-painting the story comes to life in a whirlwind of colour.
