UK Comedians to miss Sydney Comedy Festival

Jarred Christmas's one night only show this week has been cancelled, as he is not expected to make it to Australia in time for the Wednesday Night performance.

Also cancelled is New Zealand comedian Benjamin Crellin, who has been performing in the UK. Due to the backlog of outgoing flights Benjamin is not going to arrive in Australia in time for his shows next weekend.

Please note that Daniel Sloss will also no longer be appearing at CRACKER night or the first week of The Comedy Showcase as he has been delayed but is expected to arrive in time for his solo show in May.

Verdi Rigoletto

Baby Food Activists Face Court

Six Greenpeace activists and mums will appear in North Sydney Local Court tomorrow on charges relating to last month's contaminated baby formula protests.

The women were arrested at Woolworths Neutral Bay after labelling genetically modified baby formula, S-26 Soy, to give parents their right to know what's in their children's food. A simultaneous protest took place in Melbourne at Coles Fitzroy, where no arrests were made.

While the Legend of King Arthur often conjures up images from the battles of Camelot, the Knights of the Round Table and Merlin the magician, Sydney Philharmonia Choirs will present the less known historical and musical classic of Henry Purcell's King Arthur in a fun-filled theatrical concert at the City Recital Hall, Angel Place on Saturday 25 September.

Referred to by some as the very first musical in history, Purcell's King Arthur is a semi-opera performed in five acts, recounting the chivalric adventures of King Arthur as he rescues his fiancee, the blind Cornish Princess Emmeline, who has been abducted by his arch-enemy the Saxon King Oswald of Kent.

2010 Sydney Underground Film Festival

Once home to wholesome family comedies and dramatic medical soaps, primetime TV has taken a turn for the seedier, with a new brand of television sex and violence unleashed onto the public airwaves.

An early preview screening of the film The End of the Line is a must see for
all lovers of seafood. Imagine an ocean without fish. Imagine your meals
without seafood. Imagine the global consequences. This is the future if we
do not stop, think and act FAST. Sydney residents will be able to attend
the early screening of The End of the Line - the world's first major feature
documentary highlighting the devastating effect of overfishing. The preview
screening will be hosted by Sydney Aquarium Conversation Fund (SACF) and
Nature Conversation Council of NSW, supported by the Save Our Marine Life
campaign, prior to its expected cinema release in early 2010.

All proceeds from tickets sales will help fund SACF's and Nature
Conservation Council's important local marine conservation work.
