Young rural producer Kuren made a huge impact on the Australian electronic music scene last year with his emotive -Love Lost' EP and continued to impress with a slow burning rendition of Sophie Lowe's -Pink Flowers and energetic set at Vanfest alongside the likes of Rudimental and Peking Duk. Now, on his 18th birthday, he's taking on superstar Banks, layering his unwaveringly fresh take on electronic music to hit single -Better'.
Taking the minimalism of the original track and filtering it through a thoughtfully transposed composition, Kuren applies his trademark production to the intense allure of Banks' original. No stranger to remixing the greats, Kuren kicked off his remixing career with a flip of The Weeknd's -Earned It' which pulled over 60k Soundcloud plays. He followed this up with a remix of lady boss Vanessa Elisha's -Ocean' which clocked 80k Soundcloud plays.
After acquiring an obsession for music production through a YouTube tutorial and a free trial of FL studio, Kuren was pitted as one of Triple J Unearthed's 2015 -5 New Indigenous Artists You Need To Hear' and chosen for an Unearthed collaboration with fellow spotlight artist DENNI to produce -Wolves' (a rework of Kuren's track -Achilles') in celebration of NAIDOC week.
