Born in Communist Bulgaria, DG Rampton escaped with her parents to Sydney, Australia, when she was just six years old.

Along with novelist Jane Austen, she credits her inspiring English teacher at school for showing her the beauty of the English language.

'From the moment Mrs Hall introduced me to Jane Austen's writing I was captivated.  Her words held such great beauty and wit. There is a romance to words that has been largely ignored by our modern society. We have lost the art of conversation, and also of correspondence; of communicating with
others by crafting phrases for their enjoyment and our own. I often wonder if I was born into the wrong century!'

DG was in her twenties when she first thought about writing a book but life had other plans, and she found herself at university studying civil engineering.

'I have always been a creative creature at heart, with a passion for storytelling. But by some mischievous twist of fate I found myself studying engineering (the driest and most analytical of subjects) and followed that up by working in the construction industry for ten years. What possessed me, you might well ask! But eventually the call of my creative inclinations proved too demanding and I started to write.'

Moving to the United Kingdom for work, a self professed 'Anglophile,' DG Rampton met her very own Mr Darcy. The couple married in Balmoral, Sydney, before heading back to London to live for several years.

'I love England! The people, culture, manners, architecture, history. For such a small island they've propagated many enlightened ideas around the world, such as ending slavery, women's rights, children's rights, animal welfare,' DG Rampton said.

After the birth of her daughter, DG finally had the opportunity to write the book that had been percolating in her head for nearly a decade. Living by the River Thames in Richmond, a historic and quintessentially English part of London (think Ted Lasso!), provided the perfect setting to inspire a Regency romance.

Artemisia may have taken a long time to write but readers were by no means disappointed. The book claimed the number 1 spot in the Amazon US Regency Historical Romance Best Seller list. So too did DG's second and third books in the Regency Goddesses Series, as well as other Amazon best seller lists internationally, including in England, Australia and Germany.

The trilogy can lay claim to 100,000 downloads on Amazon. DG credits her success on the global platform to good stories, good covers and steadily growing her readership, and by extension her positive reviews.

'Once I had enough reviews under my belt, I decided it was worth investing in marketing campaigns. Also, by giving Amazon exclusive rights to my ebooks I can enrol them in the Kindle Unlimited program, and benefit from Amazon marketing my books to their KU and Prime Members,' she said.

The Romantic Comedy author has also written the contemporary novel Earl Tangled with Star, inspired by her time living in London as a twenty-something, which debuted at number 2 in the Amazon US Christmas Holiday Romance Best Seller list.

Returning to her first love, DG is currently writing a new historical romance series, Taming of the Dukes. Prepare to be swept into a charming world of grand country manors, delightful manners and entertaining tangles, not to mention exquisite tailoring, tall hats and plunging necklines!

"Are you in the mood for a romantic Regency adventure during the London Season brimming with orchestrated dinner parties, matchmaking schemes, unexpected romances, and competitive games? Silly question, right? If yes, I heartily recommend reading DG Rampton's diverting, witty, and well-crafted Regency romances." Austenesque Reviews

Much like the cultural phenomenon that is the Netflix series Bridgerton (based on Julia Quinn's Regency novels), DG Rampton's books are a guilty pleasure, transporting her readers back to a time of high society, lavish balls, romance and refinement.

Artemisia, Aphrodite and Aurora, DG Rampton's three Amazon bestselling novels from the Regency Goddesses Series, are set in England's Regency era in the early 1800s and are packed with feisty, clever heroines, masterful, dashing men and plenty of wit!

'It's such a romantic period in which to set a love story. A great escape to a time when men knew how to be gentlemen, and manners and etiquette oiled the cogs of polite society,' said DG Rampton.
