Making their debut in 2023, Adelaide indie rock group DESTINEZIA have not wasted time in becoming one of the city's exciting fresh voices on the scene.
Their music, encompassing a passion for anthemic arrangements and keeping the energy high at all times, has captured the attention and praise of their community and broader industry alike. And now to kick off 2026, DESTINEZIA are back with a new single for everyone to sink into: 'crooked teeth.'
The new drop from the band arrives as their first release of the year, and the first piece of new music since releasing their debut EP - DO THEY KNOW? - in 2025. The song, as DESTINEZIA describes, is a result of them wanting to "lean into a more vulnerable side of ourselves". From the ground up, 'crooked teeth.'
"It marked a shift in our sound, but more importantly, it was about creating something that felt completely honest and true to where we were as a band. Rather than chasing a polished or perfected version of the song, we focused on capturing the emotion and imperfections that gave it its meaning.
By allowing the song to take its time, we were able to reflect the way it actually lived and breathed with us, rather than forcing it into a fixed structure too early. The result is something raw, transparent, and unfiltered, a song that doesn't hide its edges, but embraces them. 'crooked teeth.' represents a moment of honesty for us, both sonically and emotionally, and sets the tone for where we're heading next." DESTINEZIA
To celebrate the release of 'crooked teeth.', DESTINEZIA will be performing an exclusive run of shows alongside TOWNHOUSE through February and March. Of their upcoming shows the band says, "The tour marks a big moment for Destinezia, which is the first time the band has hit the road on a run of this scale, and feels like a natural step forward into a new chapter. Sonically, it sees Destinezia sharpen the edges of their sound while holding onto the dreamy, nostalgic feel that's always been at the centre of the band. The tour is a chance to bring that openness to the stage, play new material live, and let the songs exist in their most raw and vulnerable form."
