Sarah Carroll to Release New EP 'Get Low' In Time For Her Appearances at the Port Fairy Folk Festival
Get Low is the new EP from revered Victorian songwriter and musician Sarah Carroll; an intelligent and adventurous 5 song trip which takes listeners from the intimacy, playfulness and pain of love to a wide-screen view of life itself. The title track is a rocksteady ode to self-belief. Recorded at Zac Barter's beautiful studio in Highton, Victoria, performed by a tight gang of Sarah's dearest friends, Get Low is presented with pride by Cheersquad Records & Tapes.

Get Low
will be available as a 5 track CD and digitally on 4 March 2026, with pre-orders available from today. The first single from the album, the powerful country song "Life Is Sad", is available immediately to anyone who pre-orders the album via Bandcamp:

The EP is released ahead of Sarah's appearances at this year's Port Fairy Folk Festival.

Sarah Carroll
is an individual who simply oozes musicality: a gorgeous, soulful singer, a beautiful instrumentalist, and someone who has an intrinsic understanding of all manner of roots music. Her songs chime with sincerity and deal largely with her experiences as a teacher, mother, wife, political animal and touring musician.

Following the release of her 6th studio album, NQR&B on Cheersquad Records & Tapes, in mid 2024, Sarah and her 4-piece band The Big Fuss toured Victoria and NSW, with keen interest and support from radio and print media. Sarah was invited to open for Tim Rogers on his regional Vic tour in December 2024, and in between, launched a new album with her band The Cartridge Family. More recently, Sarah has been testing her new material over summer while touring with her longtime guitarist Shannon Bourne supporting Joe Camilleri and The Black Sorrows!

The release of NQR&B followed Sarah's stint as Australian Musician Magazine's Musician of the Month and was celebrated with a lengthy feature in Rhythms. NQR&B was 3PBS FM Feature Album of the Week and part of 3RRR's Soundscape and was in several Top 10s in Rhythms Magazine's readers and writers' polls at the end of 2024.

In addition to her solo work, Sarah is known for her contribution to bands such as GIT, The Pirates Of Beer, Soft Gold, The Left Wing, The Settledowns and The Junes, her work with her late husband, the legendary harmonica player and singer-songwriter Chris Wilson and their sons, the acclaimed singer/songwriters Fenn Wilson and George Carroll Wilson, as well as her decades of broadcasting and music writing experience.
