Singer/songwriter Esha Tewari today releases – What Makes a Girl a Girl. The deluxe EP follows the rising star's fourth EP, What Makes a Girl, and is a collection of personal, connected tracks including "Where Our Streets Met." Listen HERE.
"This EP is a collection of songs I started collating around my US tour [The Wraith Tour]. After putting them together, everything became so clear - the title is a nudge to my own experience with the performance of gender. I believe girlhood is something that transcends biology and is all about community and shared experiences. As someone who has never felt particularly connected to women hood, having close girl friends around me and so many incredible girls who listen and relate to my music has allowed me to connect to myself in a different way. I don't think anything is truly gendered - it's all just a performance, and whatever you want to make of it. I hope everyone listens and is able to relate to my music."
What Makes a Girl a Girl continues to showcase Tewari's combination of blunt yet floaty rhythmic guitars, loose heavy drums, and beautifully messy ear pulling synth sounds.
What Makes a Girl a Girl is released by Alta Music Group and Tewari Entertainment Corporation under a joint venture and available on all major streaming platforms starting today.
Tewari will join Conan Gray on his global Wishbone World Tour which begins next week on Thursday 19 February. The tour will touch down in Australia in October. Tour informationHERE.
