Perth-Born, Nashville-based pop artist Felicity has today unveiled the latest taste from her upcoming EP '4PM in The Morning' (out 1.8) with 'I'll Have What He's Having' - a bright, infectious piece of pop-perfection, released via East Music Row Records.
Following first EP single 'Half Sad', 'I'll Have What He's Having' continues to showcase Felicity's dynamic range and boundless talent as a songwriter and performer. The track was written by Felicity alongside esteemed songwriter Asia Whiteacre (Louis Tomlinson, Hailee Steinfeld); and producer Dan Pallarin - and the years of experience within the songwriting team is immediately apparent. The production on 'I'll Have What He's Having' is both highly polished and full of character - providing the perfect canvas for Felicity's striking vocal performance, full to the brim with hooks and personality.
Lyrically the track serves as a tongue-in-cheek reflection on self worth and relationships.
"Asia, Dan and I had a hell of a good time writing this song. Dan is such a talented guy and everything he was playing on piano sparked a hundred fun pop melodies. Quickly the song started to take shape.
We wrote it to be a love song on the surface but beneath that it's more about the feeling of being jealous of those who have a healthier, kinder self image than I seem to have. The main chorus lyric is "I'll have what he's having, what's it like to be nice to yourself? I'm just mean, dammit" and that's a good synopsis for me as a person but also the song as a whole." FELICITY
Felicity has gone from strength to strength since the release of her debut single 'Burnt Sugar' back in 2018. She has since risen to 6 million total streams (including 1.8 million for 'Poison' & 2.8 million for 'Pilot With A Fear Of Heights') and an impressive 30,000 combined social following. Her debut EP 'You Take Me To Dinner But You'll Never Feed My Soul' released July 2024 was met with praise from all corners of the industry, including editorial playlist support from Spotify and media praise from Atwood, Pleaser Mag, Mundane Mag and The Skadoosh. EP track 'Half Sad' has already made a great impact since release, with adds to Spotify editorial playlists (New Music Friday, Pop N' Fresh, Equal AU & NZ) & Apple Music playlists (Jazz Soul Cafe, New In Alternative, New In Pop).
