Hear Me Isaac Alvarez Interview

Hear Me Isaac Alvarez Interview

Joivan Wade & David Bianchi with powerful spoken word short film. Hear Me written by David Bianchi (Queen of The South) and Joivan Wade (Cyborg in Doom Patrol) uncovers two perspectives of a shared experience in quarantine during the global pandemic. These poets cleverly illustrate two international perspectives melded into one to create a common vision of insecurity, uncertainty, vision and inspiration all at once. The film was produced in support of the global #HearMe movement. #HearMe is a portrait series developed by Isaac Alvarez to help highlight the positive experiences of celebrities, influencers, and ordinary people during the stay at home orders. A series that uses written signs in portrait format illustrating their feelings during social distancing.

Isaac Alvarez Interview

What inspired you to create 'Hear Me'?
Isaac Alvarez: What inspired me to do this is to spread more positivity. During this pandemic all we hear is either something about COVID or what's going on with our government. Once I started doing this, I was also inspired by the people's messages and their journey throughout this quarantine.

What is the main message you would like to get out there?
Isaac Alvarez: My main message or purpose is to spread positivity through everyone's message. I also want to inspire people to focus more on positivity instead of being stuck in a rut.

How can others get involved?
Isaac Alvarez: People can get get involved by filling out a paper that has one of these criteria.
  • something they miss
  • something positive
  • a favorite quote
Once they have that they can take their own photo just like the others and post it on their social with these tags. #hearme #alonetogether @isaacalvarezraw

What has been your coping mechanism during isolation?
Isaac Alvarez: What's been helping me is virtually meeting all these people through FaceTime. All the stories and the experience that people are going through from this pandemic has been filling in a void. There's so much journey that one person experience from all this and I hope it impacts others from reading everyone's message.

What's next for you?
Isaac Alvarez: Continuing this movement to make an impact in our community by spreading more positivity through everyone's messages.
