POPPONGENE April Residency

POPPONGENE is the dreamy pop solo project of Sophie Treloar (also of Melbourne outfits Sunbeam Sound Machine and Field Maps). POPPONGENE's music recalls tranquil summer days, full of warmth and lush with reverb, bordering on the psychedelic with hints of 60s pop vibes.

Joining them throughout April will be some of Melbourne's finest - Champion Racecourse, Sunbeam Sound Machine (solo), Field Maps, Real Love, No Local, Babey, Way Dynamic, Girlatones, pting, and Tram Cops (solo).

After taking a short break, POPPONGENE is playing the Tote front bar every Sunday in April, debuting a fresh new line up and some brand new songs! The new lineup consists of Skube Burnell on drums (808s and Greatest Hits), Chris Goff on guitar (Them Swoops, Hungry Kids of Hungary), Gemma Helms on bass (Mares) and Deanna Rumsaviche on keys (Oh Deanna).

Join them each week to get a sneak peak of the songs featured on POPPONGENE's forthcoming EP and to help extend those warm summer vibes a little bit longer!
