International Candy Maker Sour Patch Hunts for Aussie Taste Testers

The international Sour Patch brand, has revealed it is on the look-out for volunteers to join a tasting panel for its Sour Patch products. The overall aim of the Panel is to ensure products hit the heights of a super-sour flavour experience that will blow fans' tastebuds away.

Sour Patch has become a sour phenomenon, taking candy aisles in the US by storm, representing a growing worldwide trend towards sour flavour profiles, and is one of the fastest growing candy brands in Australia.

If you're a sucker for anything and everything sour, then the Sour Patch Sour Specialist Panel is for you. A panellist should possess the following attributes.

A high tolerance to sour flavours – only those with the strongest sour tolerance will be considered.
The ability to eat an entire lemon without pulling an extreme -sour face'.
Being able to 'taste like a washing machine' using your tongue to mimic the action of clothes going around in a washing machine.
Willingness to unashamedly screw up their faces for at least 5 seconds after trying it, to ensure the -super sour' experience is up to the required standard.
Rigorous adherence to tasting policies, and a commitment to regular palate cleansing with water and crackers.
Applicants should have fully operational sourness receptors on their tongues to ensure sour flavour profiles can be fully detected.

The formation of this Specialist Panel follows the launch of the new Sour Patch Max product, an extreme sensory experience which has been created to provide a super sour -shock' to fans' tastebuds and is among the sourest candy products now available in Australian stores.

Sarah Calman, Head Sour Taster at Sour Patch, Australia, is excited to be leading the Panel. 'There are a number of secrets to creating delicious sour-tasting treats and we're looking for committed fans who can help unlock taste-bud tingling combinations, just like our latest Sour Patch Max product," Ms Calman said.

"Sour Specialists on the Panel will need to prepare for watery eyes and -extreme scrunched-up faces' from the super -sour-then-sweet' flavour punch.

'We are currently working on some exciting new sour sensation products that will blow sour fans' socks off so if you are interested in becoming a Sour Patch Sour Specialist, please send us your details!"

Sour Patch Max is available now in Coles and Woolworths and selected independent and petrol and convenience stores across Australia with five flavoursome sour fruit jelly flavours including Raspberry, Lime, Lemon, Orange and Blackcurrant to try out.
