The Inner West's largest annual free community event, the Burwood Festival, this morning announced its full list of entertainment. Sultan has earned a legion of fans playing his distinctive blend of country, soul and rock 'n' roll, becoming a much loved fixture of the Australian music landscape in the process.
Growing up in the suburbs of Melbourne, Sultan started playing guitar at the tender age of four and wrote his first song at the age of ten. Little did he know that years later his debut single would win Single Release of the Year at the 2007 Deadly Awards and be played on airwaves across the country. |

Sydney will play host to the biggest competitive international film festival ever staged in the country with the launch of the inaugural Cockatoo Island Film Festival (24 - 28 October).
The very best films from 15 countries will compete for a series of prestigious awards to be presented at a red carpet gala awards ceremony on Saturday night, 28 October, including Best Feature Film, Jury Prize for Artistic Vision, Best Documentary, Best Australian Short, the Young Film-maker of the Year and a $20,000 NSW Mining Young Indigenous Documentary Fellowship.
