The true spirit of Christmas is about receiving and more importantly giving. That's why Waverley Gardens Shopping Centre has partnered with not-for-profit organisation, Very Special Kids to support families in need during this special time of year. The centre will rollout festive activities that are not only family friendly but also allow its visitors to get behind a truly wonderful cause.
Established in 1985, Very Special Kids cares for children with life-threatening conditions by providing a children's hospice and professional support services completely free of charge to families. Being the only children's hospice in the state, it helps more than 950 families across Victoria and requires more than $7 million each year to operate.
Waverley Gardens' Christmas celebrations will launch on 25th November with the exciting arrival of Santa's workshop. It will host Photos with Santa and Letters to Santa where kids can be entertained whilst waiting for their photos by writing a letter to Santa and decorating the Christmas tree. The centre has gifted free photo vouchers to Very Special Kids registered families so they can have their own Christmas moment with ease.
A Very Special Kids Christmas Wishing Treewill be installed as well where you can donate $5 for a wish card and write a Christmas message, which will be collected and given to the children in the hospice.
ABC Kids'Bananas In Pyjamas Christmas Show, hosted by Jimmy Giggle will also be in centre on 25th November where little ones will be delighted to see Australian favourite twins, B1 and B2 in real life!
For the last minute Christmas shoppers, a Gift Wrapping station is here to help from 16th December until 24th December. For just a gold coin donation per item, you will not only save yourself the headaches but also supporting a great cause as 100% of donations collected will go towards Very Special Kids.
