D'Ambrosio Twins Talk New Sci-Fi Film

Teen twins Bianca and Chiara D'Ambrosio are the modern-day Mary-Kate and Ashley. At just 13-years-old, they already have a long list of music, TV and film credits to their name. The twins latest endeavor is taking the digital world by storm – with their own successful "Day In The Life" YouTube series, collaboration on the Brooklyn and Bailey's 'Squared' YouTube channel for twins, and starring roles in the TigerBeat TV original series "Sage Alexander: The Dark Realm" (alongside Hayden Summerall, Madison Hu, Brooke Butler, etc.). With much success in the digital realm, they teamed up with Sticker Bling Bling to create their own sticker line for their young fans to enjoy.

Next up, Bianca and Chiara will be starring in a new sci-fi adventure feature "The Code," alongside social star Nash Grier, Nia Sioux (Dance Moms) and Nina Kiri (The Handmaid's Tale). The film by Origin Entertainment and Hacienda Film Co is currently in production. With all of these projects in the works, Bianca and Chiara are proving there's just so much to 'like' about a digital dynamic duo.

Interview with Bianca and Chiara D'Ambrosio

Question: What's a typical day like, for you?

Chiara D'Ambrosio: It depends on the type of day, but during the week I like to play tennis with my sister, go swimming and study. This schedule changes if we have to be on set. Those days require early mornings to get hair and makeup ready and a long day of filming.

Bianca D'Ambrosio: My mornings usually include doing schoolwork and exercising. In the afternoons, I study, make dinner and try to catch up on my favorite Netflix shows. I am currently reading the Harry Potter series too!


Question: Can you tell us about your new film The Code?

Bianca D'Ambrosio and Chiara D'Ambrosio : The Code is set in the future and revolves around the theme of living forever. Who wants to live forever? And, who decides if you live forever?


Question: Who do you play in The Code?

Chiara D'Ambrosio: I play Siona. My character wants her and her twin sister Suria to look and be the same forever, but they don't realise the consequences of this. It's a story about mortality and what people will do to achieve it.

Bianca D'Ambrosio: I play the role of Suria. We can't say much about the plot, but it's a story about the classic case of 'be careful what you wish for'!

Question: Can you relate to your characters, at all?

Chiara D'Ambrosio: Siona and I both value sisterhood. We are both also too young to really understand the concept of mortality.

Bianca D'Ambrosio: Suria and her sister are very close and they are best friends. I relate to her because I feel the same way about my twin sister Chiara.


Question: What was the best part about being on set for The Code?

Chiara D'Ambrosio: We loved meeting our co-stars such as Nina Kiri, Nia Sioux and Nash Grier. We spent a lot of time on set with them. It is always fun to meet new people.

Bianca D'Ambrosio: I love being on sets and seeing the set design. This movie is set in the future so all the sets were very creative and futuristic!


Question: Did Mary Kate and Ashley inspire your acting career?

Bianca D'Ambrosio and Chiara D'Ambrosio : We love the show Full House and we love all of their movies! We were inspired that both of the girls got to be on the show and were in so many of the same projects. We were also inspired to be individual and unique –but also a power team, just like them.


Question: Can you tell us about your song "Young and Free"?
Chiara D'Ambrosio: My sister and I wrote this song because we wanted to inspire the feeling of living your best life. We want to inspire anyone who listens to the song and watches the video to get out and try new things!

Bianca D'Ambrosio: I was very excited to play the guitar for this track and also write it with my sister. We wanted to make a fun music video for our channel. Go check it out now on our YouTube channel!


Question: What inspired this track?

Bianca D'Ambrosio and Chiara D'Ambrosio: We want kids to know they should live their lives, and not put so much importance into what people think about you. Turn the negative into a positive!


Question: What was it like filming the "Young and Free" music video?

Chiara D'Ambrosio: Anytime I can work with my sister it's a blast! We got the opportunity to be creative together with our director. There was a lot of great energy and chemistry on set, which resulted in an amazing video!

Bianca D'Ambrosio: We filmed with our friend Hayden Summerall. We had such a fun time and had a lot of laughs. We were so tired at the end of the day.


Question: What's next, for you both?
Chiara D'Ambrosio: We are filming a movie called "I Saw a Man With Yellow Eyes" with Katherine Heigl and Harry Connick Jr. We are also hoping to see some of our favorite artists perform in concert this summer!

Bianca D'Ambrosio: I just found out that we will be working on a show called "The Bay" this summer. It will be on Amazon Prime!
