Bioré UV Aqua Rich Skincare

Bioré UV Aqua Rich Skincare

As Japanese skincare continues to shape beauty trends worldwide, one of Japan's most sought-after sunscreens is finally  making its Australian debut. Loved by millions and ranked as Japan's #1 SPF brand*, the Bioré UV Aqua Rich™ range arrives this August, combining the signature sensorial experience that made it an iconic favourite, now formulated for use in Australia.

Available in two formulas, the range delivers breathable, barely- there wear with no white cast across all skin tones - just everyday protection that feels like skincare. In other words, it's the perfect protective base for your face.

Bioré UV Aqua Rich™ Lightweight Moisturiser SPF 50 is a weightless moisturiser that protects skin while leaving a sheer, invisible finish. Bioré UV Aqua Rich™ Glow Effect Moisturiser SPF 50 blends skincare, SPF, and glow in one step; this is skinification of sunscreen at its best. A lightweight hybrid formula that protects while enhancing skin for an instantly healthy, luminous finish.

Daily SPF isn't about the weather - it's about consistent, cumulative protection. Beauty Writer, Podcast Host, and Bioré brand ambassador Gemma Dimond acknowledges how skipping your sunscreen in the cooler months creates gaps in that protection. Over time, those gaps show up as ageing or pigmentation.

"SPF is the most important step in a skincare routine, no matter who you are or where you live. The best sunscreen is the one you actually want to use - if your SPF doesn' t feel comfortable on the skin, so you just leave it on the vanity, what's the point?! The consistency of the Bioré UV Aqua Rich range is light, breathable, and comfortable enough for everyday wear, while delivering the high level protection I look for in an SPF."

The Bioré UV Aqua Rich™ range sets a new benchmark for sun protection, combining invisible wear, skincare benefits and SPF performance. Powered by Japan's first-of-its-kind Aqua Rich technology, the formula is infused with Micro Defence UV technology, designed to provide even coverage across skin,
including fine lines and uneven surfaces, for reliable UV protection without a heavy or sticky feel.

"The Bioré UV Aqua Rich range has been SO popular in Japan - one of those really buzzy products that starts with beauty insider chatter and grows increasingly frenzied. I was ecstatic to get my hands on it early, and it's exceeded the hype. These are beautiful, high-quality moisturisers that feel great on the skin, combined with invisible, powerful, broad-spectrum sun protection. I have no doubt it's about to become a cult favourite in Australia too."

The Bioré UV Aqua Rich™ range is available to purchase in the suncare aisle at Chemist Warehouse, Coles, and Woolworths, and the Japanese/Korean Beauty section in Priceline for RRP $24.99  AUD. Always read the label and follow the directions for use. Wear protective clothing, hats, and eyewear when exposed to the sun. Prolonged sun exposure should be avoided. Reapply frequently.

Review:

The Bioré UV Aqua Rich Lightweight Moisturiser SPF 50 is a good option for everyday sun protection, particularly if you dislike the heavy or greasy feel that some sunscreens leave behind. The lightweight, watery texture makes it comfortable to apply, and I like that it leaves an invisible finish without a noticeable white cast. It feels more like applying a moisturiser than a traditional sunscreen, which makes it easier to incorporate into a daily skincare routine. The addition of hyaluronic acid is a nice bonus for keeping skin feeling hydrated, although I would still use a separate moisturiser if my skin felt particularly dry. At $24.99, it is reasonably priced for a daily facial SPF, especially if you prefer something that sits comfortably under makeup.

The Glow Effect Moisturiser SPF 50 is worth considering if you prefer a more radiant finish. The added niacinamide is appealing, and the subtle glow gives skin a fresher, healthier appearance without needing as much additional makeup. However, the luminous finish may not suit everyone, particularly those who prefer a matte look or already have naturally oily skin. Both formulas offer convenient ways to combine skincare and sun protection, but the real test is how they perform with regular use throughout the day. As with any sunscreen, applying enough product and reapplying as directed is essential. I can see the appeal of the range, especially for people who find traditional sunscreens uncomfortable and want an SPF that feels like a natural part of their morning routine.
